I love journaling

I'm so into lists. Countdowns.

This Wednesday will be 4 weeks without pop. Without diet pop. Without coffee. Without fast food. Most importantly without Taco Bell. Weird thing is ---- not so much craving the Taco Bell.

Also, made my kids walk/run 2 miles with me yesterday. Bailey is my little running star. She was all for going and going. Bryce is more a sprinter. Totally fast at first, then wears out. It was actually fun! Round two is tomorrow morning!

This was my day today.

730 - wake up.
Get kids dressed.
Get myself dressed.
Pick up Taylor.
Take Bailey and Taylor to Bright Futures.
Tylar arrives.
Feed Bryce and Tylar breakfast.
Spend 2 hours cleaning the house.
Pick up Kenzie.
Take Kenzie, Bryce, and Tylar to storytime at Borders.
Come home.
Feed Bryce, Kenzie, and Tylar lunch.
Make Eric lunch.
Bailey comes home.
Kids play in pool.
Take Bailey, Bryce, Kenzie, and Tylar to the library.
Melissa came too.
She took Kenz home.
Came home.
Feed Bryce, Bailey, and Tylar snacks.
Got Bailey and Bryce dressed in costumes.
Tylar got picked up.
Took Bailey and Bryce to rehearsal at 630 pm.
Stayed there til 8:30 pm.
Went to Michaels to pick up candy stuff to make suckers for the show.
Got home at 9:30.
Watered flowers.
Fed kids a snack.
PJ's and goodnight kisses.
And here I am at 10:30 pm, ready to drop. So tired!!!!!!

It all happens again tomorrow. Same order. Except for something else will be in place of the library. Maybe Jungle Java? I'm not sure yet. :)

Day 18

I had my cheat last night. I ate an ice cream sandwich and a small bag of unclean popcorn.

I felt that cheat coming on. I was seriously afraid of getting one of everything at the taco bell drive through! wahhh!

It was ok though, I made it through... and I feel ok today. That's what the cheats are for. And you just carry on with eating clean.

I've never gone so many days without eating crap. Ever. Seriously. I've done diets before, weight watchers, just counting calories, etc. But those diets incorporate eating crap. (not knocking it, I've seen it work for people, and good for them!)

This is why cheats and treats are so crucial to me though. I could feel my mind going crazy. Just a pop. Just a candy bar. Just this, just that. But I've been turning it off and turning it off. If I don't have the cheats, I feel I would eventually crack and go too far. This way, I can allow myself to have a get out of jail free card, and keep moving on. :)

Day 15

Another 2 pounds gone. Phew!

I told myself I would give this 2 weeks to see how it went... and at the end of two weeks, make my decision if I wanted to continue this farther...

Hell yes I want to continue! :o)

I've been feeling great. Sometimes it's been tough. Those moments when I'm really hungry, and out of the house, out of the snacks I've packed, and just thinking - a burger from burger king sounds amazing... (and I really don't even like burgers, especially not from burger king!) But, I've made it through.

I've made it 14 days with 1 cheat. (that inch by inch raspberry bar on the 4th of July)

I've decided I am going to allow myself 1 cheat and 1 treat a week. A cheat is something that is NOT clean. (A non home made cookie, a piece of white bread, some cheddar with added coloring, etc) A treat is something that IS clean, but not necessarily the best thing for a diet. (A home made cookie, Haagen Dazs 5 ice cream, extra cheesy pita bread, clean tortilla chips, etc)

We got a juicer, which I am excited about. Can't wait to start making some yummy juices. I'm gonna look into some recipes.

I am shy 1 or 2 days of 700 days of not smoking. Quitting smoking was WAY harder than changing my eating habits. If I could conquer that, I can change this!

Last night, we had a lovely clean dinner... BBQ chicken (with a CLEAN BBQ sauce!), potatoes, onions, onions, corn, clean pita bread! Yum! It was a nice indulgence after spending 2 hours working on the back yard in 90 degree heat.

Can't wait to see what the next week brings!!!

Berries N Cream Smoothie!

Whole tray of ice cubes.
Two heaping handfuls of spinach
10 Strawberries
Half a bag of frozen blueberries, raspberries, black berries
1 Lime (squeezed, juice only)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder mixed with 12 oz water
2 tbsp. Wheat Germ
2 tbsp. Flax Seeds

Blend and Enjoy!

(tastes like berries n cream ice cream to me! Yum)

Even my daughter enjoyed some!! And asked if she can have it for breakfast tomorrow too!!

Day 10 - Going Strong!

Things have been going great! I'm so excited that this has been so easy! As I type this I am enjoying a smoothie I made yesterday. Just made extra, and put some in the freezer for anotherday. Why didn't I make things this yummy before? This smoothie feels like I'm cheating.

Smoothie Ingrediants:

2 bananas
10 strawberries
2 large handfuls of spinach
2 handfuls of frozen pineapple
10 ice cubes
1 scoop vanilla whey protein mixed with 6 oz of water

Blend all together

Makes 4 large smoothies! Just put them into different cups and put them in the freezer.

Take out and allow to thaw a little, then enjoy!

The smoothie is really filling too! I figure its a good thing to keep in my freezer. If I feel like cheating, I have this to satisfy my craving!

Yesterday, my sister made me this yummy salad. It had feta and almonds in it. Sooooo good!

I used guacamole as dressing (avacado, garlic, lemon juice, tomato)

The salad was huge. I only ate a 3rd of it. Two more lunches out of it!

One week ago today I began eating clean. This morning I weighed in 4 pounds lighter than last wednesday. Good sign!!

I've been doing great. Headed to zumba tonight! Can't wait!! <3

Camping... feels so good!

So, I officially made it through a 3 day weekend of camping with no cheating. And it wasn't as hard as I had first thought it was going to be. Packing a cooler full of foods was a great idea! Plus, it helped that my mom's trailer has a microwave... made for easy reheating of my oatmeal! Great!

My new favorite oatmeal is with 1 banana and peanut butter. It so good and creamy!!


And, I just made 4 dinners for the week! Chicken, green beens, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato, bake potato. Yum....

Day 3

Last night at 8 pm I freaked out hungry and ate some of the leftovers from what I had for dinner. At least it was still clean! :)

Today we leave to go camping for the 4th of July weekend. Ahh! Kind of nervous as to my eating... but I'm packing a cooler! I'm gonna do great! Go Jen Go!


B... Oatmeal w flax seeds, 1 banana, blueberries, and raspberries. Water.

S... Apple.

L... Quick Protein Pancake. (Vanilla whey protein, egg white, cottage cheese, apple and cinnamon topping)

S... Whole Grain Bread w Peanut Butter.

D... Salad Salad Salad




I'll update when I get home how it all went!
